![]() Info for damaged safe: Model: HD4100 serial number: D-00799051. I ended up leaving my first safe behind and buying another safe of the same model. With careful use, i.e., gently opening, closing, lifting, and putting down my safe, the seam in the back burst, a real nuisance when one wants to keep documents and home clean. I noticed leakage as soon as I opened it, thinking the powder around the shell for the lock, in front, was dust from manufacturing/storage. It leaks the powder which fills its casing. The first of my two safes tore at its back seam near the hinge. Seam Bursted, Powder Leaked - HD4100 While this review was prompted by a replacement for my earlier product, I shall review the earlier product here. I realized I have written too much, but this is how I honestly feel. I would like Sentry Safe to make this right and refund my money but I know this probably won't happen. At the end of the day I'm sure this review will not make a difference or even impact the rating of this product, but I would like to know someone will probably do there research and see my review so they can avoid this and find a better product. ![]() ![]() I would also imagine this product can withstand SOME punishment (I know its not burglary proof or anything but it's a safe that's fire resistant and water proof so. I'm sure if this is just a defective product, which happens sometimes, but I would imagine Sentry Safe inspects and checks their products before they release them. However, one day when I opened it, the lid came off without any real force or pressure. I have kept this safe in good condition since I have purchased it: I have never dropped it, it has always been stored in climate controlled environments (my air conditioned room), and it has never touched or stored any corrosive materials. To be clear, I have never written a product review before (at least not in recent memory), however I have never been more motivated to leave one now. This product did not even last 2 years! Don't Buy! I have owned this safe for about a Year and half (give or take), I bought it at Walmart in Fort Hood TX right before I left for college so keep important files organized and secure.
